Following graduation, he worked for a farmer near Milo, and then rented a farm near Lacona, which he eventually bought and still farms today. He said his experience with FFA and having had a great FFA/ag instructor led him to pursue a major in agriculture studies with a minor in extension at Iowa State University. Growing up as a “city kid” in Pleasantville, he remembers his grandfather farming and when he got older, a close friend got him involved in FFA. Miller currently serves as president-elect on the Iowa Soybean Association Board of Directors and farms with his family near Lacona, Iowa.Ī farmer for nearly 30 years, Miller credits his journey into farming to several people. Farmer representatives serve three-year terms on the council and provide input on what research topics are of importance from the soybean farmer perspective. The council serves to identify research needs in the areas of soybean production and protection for the center. Programs are FREE for all involved, with our specific target being youth from under resourced neighborhoods or unchurched families. Typical element of a weekly program includes a Bible/gospel lesson, homework/tutoring, dinner, and free time. Our after school and summer programs incorporate activities that allow students to live out the values of faith, education, employment, and leadership. We desire to unit the Christian community to reach out to our youth in Iowa and empower believers to demonstrate their love for Jesus through sharing their time and talents with the youth we serve.
To break bondages, discover their God given talents and lead transformed lives. Our cans that are collected at our plant are donated to various non-profit organizations with proof on non-profit status.įreedom for Youth Ministries empowers youth across Iowa through the love of Jesus Christ.
We also donate a lot from our company store for local benefits and fundraisers. We are a volunteer employee-led non-profit group that raises money by various means, and with that money, we provide events for our 3M families.
